Easter Week Devotionals: Tuesday

Today’s verses pack an eternal punch.  From the Creation of man forward to the cross, and from then forward, we’ve all gone astray, going our own way.  The Bible calls this sin.  I can’t die for yours.  You can’t die for mine.  And our own, personal sin excludes us from an eternity with a God who is too holy to look upon our sin.

The answer?  The immovable object of God’s holiness, righteousness, and justice met the irresistible force of His mercy, loving-kindness, and grace.   They met at an exact location–the cross–at the pre-ordained time.  They were reconciled by “…the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”  John 1: 29

Jesus is not “a” way.  Nor is He showing us the way.  He IS the way.  He told us, promised us, warned us:  “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”  John 14:6
