How Will You Decide??

Question:  Do you think a patriotic leader could call the United States to a time of prayer today like this man once did?  Why or why not?

J Hancock - Resolved that it be

How Will You Decide??

No, I’m not (directly) talking about the elections!

My eBook Novella, “2020 – The Countdown Begins” is now available on Amazon, FREE, through mid-day this Thursday.  After that the price will start going up (Amazon only allows a few “free” days).

In the Novella, the endangered, conflicted Karen Richardson has a difficult decision to make. It’s a life-or-death decision. She cannot possibly guess all the ramifications – the second and third order effects – of the choices she has to make.  Actually, she’s faced with several critical decisions.

How will she choose?

Without giving away her conflict or her choices, how do YOU approach such decisions?

“Building Firm Foundations in a Shifting World” — That’s the theme or platform of my blog.

So… how we make decisions is pretty foundational, wouldn’t you agree?

When an urgent matter comes up, is our guiding principle “moral relativism?” Is your goal to be “politically correct?” Is it to be contentious, just because we’re a pain? Come on, you know some people like that!

Okay, we can use words like “personal integrity.” We can call upon the well-known phrase of “duty, honor, and country.”

But what are the foundational principles upon which we should make our decisions? Principles that will stand the test of time, which aren’t just preferences blowing in the shifting winds?

Stay tuned! I’m trying to answer this very question for you and for me, in my daily posts!

  • I’m sharing (currently) quotes from our Founding Fathers which you probably didn’t read in Civics or American History classes. Right? You’re reading about leaders who didn’t talk PC, or what would get them on the Nightly News. They talked – and lived – principles that they were willing to die for. As you’ll see, these principles were often founded on personal, in-depth knowledge of and devotion to the Bible. Like demonstrated in the quote above.
  • That’s the second part of each day’s post. I share a Scripture Video.
  • And, often, some good common sense quotes for good measure!

Foundational Thoughts, I call them. I hope you’ll subscribe to receive these in your daily inbox, and encourage others to subscribe as well!

For those who want to go deeper:

One of the most intriguing examples of someone living by principle, integrity, and conviction you’ll find is David during the years he fled from the wrathful King Saul. David was found blameless, again and again. He could have killed Saul himself on several occasions, and many more times there were those who would have gladly handled the matter for him.

David made many mistakes through his life – one of the reasons I trust the Bible is how brutally honest it is, even concerning its heroes – but concerning Saul, David was a saint. See 1 Samuel 19 – 31.

The late Larry Burkett use to say, “Do we really trust God, or do we just say we trust God?”

What will Karen Richardson do in “2020 – The Countdown Begins?”

How do YOU handle the tough decisions you face?
